Message Title: “If Anybody’s ‘Got You;’ He’s Got You!”
Text: Isaiah 40:27-31
This is a Hall of Fame Bible passage. We often see it on posters or mugs or t-shirts, hats, calendars and other Christian paraphernalia. It’s a passage that we drive by like a bakery and we are loving the smell. But this morning I want to pull in and taste the goodies.
Do you ever feel like your way is hidden from the Lord?
Here are three things God wants us to internalize and trust Him for. Three things to celebrate about our God.
I. His Endurance: He doesn’t grow tired or weary.
- We can only take so much, and we get tired and weary.
- But He doesn’t get overwhelmed and lose track. The affairs of earth are never too much for Him to sort out.
- Psalm 121:4 He will neither slumber nor sleep.
- “Everlasting” God means enduring forever.
II. His Understanding: Unfathomable
- There are times when we just don’t know what to say or what to do. The Lord knows the what, the why, the when and the how.
- The unfathomableness of it comes into view when we consider that He not only understands the situation as a standalone but as it connects with everything else that has ever happened or will ever happen.
- The Scripture puts it simply, in Isaiah 46:10 it says, “He declares the end from the beginning.”
III. His Ability: He gives new strength to the weary.
The plan was never for us to generate our own spiritual power.
- Ephesians 6:10 Be strong – in the Lord and in His mighty power.
- John 15:5 “Apart from Me you can do nothing.”
- 2 Corinthians 12:9 Paul said he would rather boast in his weaknesses that the power of Christ would dwell in him and when he is weak then he is strong.
- Deuteronomy 32:36 (NIV) The LORD will judge his people and have compassion on his servants when he sees their strength is gone…
He often uses His people to deliver care packages of love to His people. Don’t forget the Lord uses His body to care for the members of His body. If you want to enhance your awareness of the Lord’s care, don’t underestimate your service to another believer and don’t overlook God’s care through another believer.
He gives new strength, appropriate for the present situation, not recycled or leftover strength from yesterday.
