Text: Ephesians 4:1-16
Main Idea: Deal With It.
Deal with it humbly. Deal with it responsibly. Deal with it thankfully.
1. Your love is special because it is God-given.
- 1 – A life worthy is a life that is lived consistent with your status as beloved sons and daughters of God our Father, as princes and princesses of the King, as fellow heirs with Christ.
- 16 – From Him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.
- 1 Corinthians 12:18 “But in fact, God has placed the parts in the body, every one of them, just as He wanted them to be.
2. Your love is special because God shows up through it
- God is there for us through one another.
- Acts 18:9-10 “Do not be afraid; keep on speaking, do not be silent. For I am with you, and no one is going to attack and harm you, because I have many people in this city.”
- Humility is accepting the facts as God presents them. God says you are an instrument of His love for His people.
- 7 – “But to each one of us grace has been given as Christ apportioned it” is a companion of 1 Peter 4:10 “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.”
- Romans 5:5 The love of God has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit.
- But in order for this to work we also need to learn to embrace the Lord’s embrace as it comes from each other.
3. Your love is special because it is instrumental in others coming to Christ.
- Concerned about outreach? John 13:35 – By this all people know you are My disciples.
- 1 Peter 4:8 Above all, keep fervent in your love for one another, because love covers a multitude of sins. Any church strategy that does not have our love for one another at the top of the list is flawed.
- He has made each of us a steward of His love.
Your Love is not just special, it is supernatural. Deal with it.
